Bill L. Thompson is an attorney who understands his clients and the situations they’re coming from. Having grown up on a Wisconsin dairy farm with parents working blue-collar jobs, Mr. Thompson takes a practical, no-nonsense approach to serving the legal needs of his clients. He enjoys working with his clients, getting to know them and taking time to understand the full capacity of their situation as well as the goals of their case.
Mr. Thompson also understands that not everyone who needs an attorney can afford the lofty fees charged by many firms. He’s been actively involved in a variety of pro bono groups in an effort to make the legal system available to the poor. This work earned Mr. Thompson recognition as Volunteer Attorney of the Year in 2006. In his Duluth-based practice at The Law Office of Bill L. Thompson, he strives to make legal services affordable for the working class as well.
Licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, Mr. Thompson has more than 10 years of experience practicing law and meeting the legal needs of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin in family law and criminal law. His work includes not only proceedings and trials at the district court level, but also at the Court of Appeals level, where he has achieved positive results for clients in numerous cases.
